About The Hackathon

Following tradition, CSI-SPIT is back with the annual "SPIT Hackathon 2020".

This year it will be held in accordance with the official techno-cultural fest of SPIT - Oculus 2020.

We invite all innovators and techno geeks to come and get their creativity going.

With a great team and skilled panel of judges, this hackathon will be an ideal platform to put your knowledge to use and network with your peers.

FAQ

A hackathon is a design sprint-like event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, and others collaborate intensively on software projects

The goal of a hackathon is to create usable software with the goal of creating a functioning product by the end of the event.

The problem statements and prizes will be declared soon. Once you’ve registered we’ll keep you posted with all details.
All team members need to register here. Deadline for the same is 10th January
Each team would comprise of 2-4 members including the team leader. All team members should be from same college; no inter-college teams are allowed. However, members from different branches of the same college/ institute can form a team.
Once the problem statements are declared only the team leader must submit a proposal in the prescribed format. Only 1 proposal can be submitted per team. Selected teams will be invited to develop their proposal into a working model at the S.P.I.T. Hackathon.
Evaluation criteria will include novelty of the idea, complexity, clarity, feasibility, practicability, sustainability, scale of impact, user experience and potential for future work progression.
S.P.I.T. Hackathon is the best way to start as we provide you with mentors and talks from industry experts. Our aim is to provide a place to learn in a short amount of time, interact and learn from other like minded people.
Food, water and refreshments, prizes, internship and placement opportunities, A/C rooms and bedding, desktop computers, LAN connection for each member.
We recommend to get your own laptop with all the necessary softwares installed, chargers, student ID, change of clothes, pillow and blankets as per your convenience
Weapons, drugs, alcohol of any kind is not permitted.
You can use any technologies as long as its open source. Intellectual Property (IP) of the idea belongs to the team members and their college/institution. However, team members must make their prototype available for our sponsors at the S.P.I.T hackathon
You can come prepared with half baked codes, write your own APIs and modules.
